Phoenixville

Situated in the middle of an open meadow at the edge of a woodland, this property receives an abundance of sun. Shading, ventilation and cooling were therefore an immediate concern. Resulting is a complex of structures, which wraps around a courtyard, creating its own shade and an immediate sense of place upon arrival. The pool area opens up to beautiful distant views and, again, seeks, with arbors and gazebos, to provide areas away from the sun. The wings of the house reach out into the landscape and create several small garden areas, which contrast comfortingly with the openness of the adjacent meadows. A horse barn as well as a riding rink are part of the overall arrangement.
